On June 4, I kicked of the 2011 wedding season with Savannah + Jesse’s colorful Georgetown bash. I learned from their engagement session that the couple is completely unpredictable and to expect lots of surprises as the day unfolded…and that it was going to be awesome.
I started off the day with Jesse and the guys getting ready at the Georgetown Inn. Having driven past the place a million times on my way home, it was kind of cool to see what it’s like inside. Like the rest of Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood, it’s not fancy but is hardworking and gets the job done.
Jesse’s sisters stopped by to get a hug from him before leaving to get ready with the girls.
Once ready to go, we walked to Calamity Jane’s, one of the couple’s favorite hangouts, where the men hung out until the ceremony. Savannah’s dad, right, surprised Jesse with his cowboy hat while they were joking around in the Inn’s parking lot.

I left the guys on the outdoor patio, enjoying pints of Georgetown-brewed Manny’s Pale Ale.
I caught up with Savy at Helle Skin Sanctuary & Salon, where her mom was already getting her hair done by stylist Chivahn Wilkens.
Savy, on the phone with her Maid of Honor, gives her instructions on what to bring to the salon.
Chivahn put in red and teal hair extensions to match the colors of the wedding, the finished look was awesome, featuring a roll of colored hair in front peaking out from Savy’s DIY handmade-hairpiece.

Savy wore a family heirloom necklace, worn by many brides in her family.
Next up, Savy + Jesse | part 2, the ceremony.
