My favorite part of being a professional photographer is having the opportunity to make portraits for people I care about. Tracy, left, and Sara are dear friends of Sarah and I. Sara and Sarah started causing trouble together in middle school and have been best friends ever since.Last month, Sarah and I were in New England for her brother’s wedding. After all the family festivities we caught up with Sara and Tracy for some rainy day engagement portraits at a neighbor’s barn in Nottingham, NH. It was the only day we had together, so we couldn’t reschedule due to rain, but honestly I always love sessions in crazy weather. What can I say, I’m a Seattle girl!Tracy is a math teacher, and Sara teaches special ed. at the same Vermont middle school. They met through at mutual friend a few years ago and got engaged in July. (I’m a big fan of short engagements!) The wedding is going to be in November at an amazing barn in Vermont.I admit the above photo is quite similar to one from Tiffany + Hannah’s session earlier this year. It’s not every session that I’m able to shoot from this angle. We finished the session, put on dry clothes, and drove an hour with Sara’s mom to Nashua, NH so everyone could shop for their wedding outfits. Sara wanted Sarah to be there, and Tracy asked me to be her style consultant. The dress girls went to David’s Bridal, and Tracy and I hit Macy’s to hunt for pinstripes. Sara and Tracy each came home with the start of their wedding outfit!Sarah is going to be a bridesmaid and also work her usual job as photographer’s assistant. We can’t wait until November to celebrate with Tracy + Sara!
