Ali + Matt | Issaquah, Washington

When Ali & Matt moved to Seattle in July for a short-term job assignment it was love at first sight. Not between them, for they were already engaged, but they fell in love with the water, mountains and trees of Seattle and decided to tie the knot before moving back to D.C. They planned and executed their wedding and celebration get-away weekend to Vancouver, B.C. and Victoria in a week and a half. Nice work! Ali said sometime in the future they will plan a celebration reception at home with their family and friends.

I was very excited to join them at Treehouse Point, a treehouse B&B near the Preston Community Center which hosts weddings, and other events. Surrounded by balanced rock formations built by other Treehouse visitors, Sarah and I served as the witnesses, as Pastor Jason married them along the river bank. Following the short ceremony we roamed the grounds for their wedding portraits.Ali & Matt exchanged self-written vows, and Pastor Jason pronounced them wed. Following the ceremony and signing of their marriage certificate the couple then balanced rocks where they had exchanged vows.Following the ceremony we walked around the grounds, exploring the various tree houses and taking portraits. The craftsmanship of the tree houses is impressive. They are all wired for electricity, include queen-sized beds, and compostable toilets. Each one is unique. We finished the session at a North Bend park under the shadow of Mount Si. Congrats to Ali & Matt, now honorary Seattleites. They will be taking their love of coffee, the environment, and of course fleece jackets (both were wearing them at our first coffee-shop meeting, a Seattle-August prerequisite!) back with them to the other Washington.
